I'm Back

Well it has been awhile and alot has changed. Our oldest Brian went in the military and is now stationed in Japan, we saw him right before Christmas for a short time. Lorelei started her senior year and is still trying to figure out life. Our little one Gage will be 4 on September 4th and I still can't believe that. He is just being a kid and loves to play and laugh.
I have really decided to make a go with Michele's Creations. Those of you that know me, know that I love to craft and have even done a couple tutorial on our blog. I have decided to share more with you. I have decided that i will talk about my family and also some of the fun things that I am creating for my beautiful clients and in my own home.
As I am writing this my almost 4 year old is belting out the Veggie Tales song. He will ask me to rewind it over and over so that he can sing it. He absolutely loves it. He is watching one about gifts right now. Not very long ago I was filling out an application and trying to answer a question about my gifts. While I know that I am crafty, I was wondering what gifts I actually possessed? What gifts did god give me? Well, I still don't know....LOL!
We have not been going to church lately and I honestly can't give you a good reason for those of you that are wondering. I know that I was extremely unhappy in my job and anxiety had taken over a bit, I know that should be moving closer to God, instead I am backing away. I am trying to go...and get my will to be there back. I did recently start a new devotional on my phone that seems as though it is talking to me each and every day.
Well, I am going to make this short, because I am going to get everything updated and figure out where I am going to have this blog take me. Please share with anyone and everyone. Also, I encourage you to ask me questions...I will answer them...

Clean Life Challenge: Week 2

This challenge is really helping me get some of the spots in my house clean, FINALLY! I have a super clean house...but I must say it seems as though we are quickly growing out of our home. Closets and cupboards need the work! This weeks challenge was end tables.

While the tops of my end tables are super clean...mainly because I have a 2 year old and can't leave anything out. I decided that I was going to tackle the inside of my end table that contains all my picture albums and pictures!

Here is the before picture of my end table!
Pictures need places and I really need to fix this leaning tower of pics! Soo... many pictures!

I was able to put some loose pictures in a photo album, but I didn't have enough photo albums to put them all away! This will be a resolution this year. Before I get any more pictures, I must put all the loose ones away in photo albums! Here is the after picture of my end table:

Much better! So happy to be able to clean one space each week! Next week I believe we are tackling spaces in our kitchen. This will be great!
Stay tuned!

Cupcake Liner Wreath

I am LOVING Pinterest. I can't seem to get enough of it. I saw the cutest wreath out of cupcake liners and I just had to recreate it. Supplies needed are a 8 in Styrofoam wreath, I got mine from Joann's...but if it wasn't so close to Christmas I could have found one at the Dollar Tree! Then you need cupcake liners. I used about 125 of them. This wreath could be made with any color combo or for any holiday! Hot glue gun...with about 5 or 6 sticks of glue. Ribbon ( I used a solid red and a red with white hearts) and one smaller cupcake liner and a brad!

You first need to wrap the red ribbon around the Styrofoam wreath and glue every few times around to keep it secure.
Next you need to begin placing the cupcake liners on the wreath. There is no special way to do this, but I did find that you need to do a section and then move to the other side and then go back. This helps the glue to dry a bit!
Next you can put the smaller cupcake on (in any place) and glue on the brad. Your last step once everything is dry is turn over the wreath and glue the ribbon on each side  and glue on a bow made from your heart ribbon.
Your wreath for Valentine's Day is finished and it's time to hang it on the wall. Enjoy your beautiful wreath. I would love to see pictures, so please share!

Clean Life Challenge: Week 1

I just recently joined a Facebook to challenge to declutter our homes. While my house is pretty organized, I have noticed that I have several spots in my house that could really use an overhaul. Each week we are faced with a challenge and we need to tackle it.

This is our 1st challenge. Since the tops of my dressers are all very clean, I decided that I was going to tackle my spice/miscellaneous cabinet. It is a mess. Each time I attempt to take something out, something always seems to fall on top of me. Last night I was looking for a white cupcake liner for a craft I was doing and 4 bottles of extract came tumbling down on me....all hitting me in the head. OUCH!
Closets and my kitchen are the worst. So, this challenge will be great for me and my family!

Before Spice /Miscellaneous Cabinet!
I actually bought more Valentine's cupcake liners, because I couldn't find any in the mess. During Christmas I bought more Almond extract because the one I had was somewhere in this forgotten realm.
So I decided to take one afternoon and take everything out and start over. I found a few collapsible drawers from the Dollar tree and began my challenge. Here is in the final product.

It felt so good to clean up this cabinet. Cooking last night was actually fun, because I wasn't irritated looking for my spices! Can't wait to see what the next challenge is...stay tuned!

Heart Felt Wreath

I love Pinterest and while on there I saw the cutest wreath made with felt from The Idea Room I just had to recreate this cute wreath. I love Valentine's day, but have realized that I really don't have many decorations. This is my year to start some great crafts.

I was actually able to make this wreath over two days. Cutting out the circles took the longest.
You will need a pair of scissors, 3/4 yard felt ( I  actually got mine at Joann's on sale for $2.99 a yard...red was my color of choice), hot glue gun, Styrofoam heart ($4.99 with 40% off at Joann's), scrap ribbon

I used an old spool of ribbon to cut out my circles. I did a 3in circle template for this. I would have to say that cutting out the circles was the hardest part. My hands hurt pretty bad after cutting out 100 circles!

To create this masterpiece, I folded the circles in half, then in half again and placed a good amount of glue in the right bottom corner.
Then in no particular order I began to place each folded circle on the heart to create a fun look. My mom actually said, "They look like roses on the heart!"
This part was really fun and honestly only took me two hours to glue the circles on! I did notice if you pay a little attention and put them in different positions and start in one place and just go around it's easier! (LOTS OF GLUE)

You only have to do this on the front. You can't even see the back! Once I finished, I glued a small piece of ribbon on the back and was able to hang it on the wall! For my first ever felt wreath, I must say that it turned out Fabulous! My goal for the New Year is to make at least one craft each week! More felt crafts to come. I can't wait to share!
